About Economics Department

The Department of Economics was established in 2017-18. The Primary Mission of our Department is to provide a High-quality education in Economics to future leaders of Industry, Government and Civil society.

The Economic Department organizes various Programmes like Guest Lectures, Field Visits, Competitions on Economics Day which will be helpful to students. These Programmes develop skills in the students required for the Future Industrial sector, Service sector. Academic courses in Economics such as Microeconomics and macroeconomics, Indian Economy, Public Finance, Business Economics, International Economics gives Diversity of subjects.

Bachelor Degree holders of Economics can explore a variety of Career opportunities. It provides knowledge useful for study of UPSC, MPSC, as well as to become Economist, Lecturer, Financial Manager in Industries.

1. To develop the ability to explain core economic terms, concepts and theories.
2. To explain the Function of the market and prices as allocative mechanisms.
3. To apply the concept of equilibrium to both microeconomics and macroeconomics.
4. To identify key macroeconomic indicators and measures of economic change, growth and development.
5. Students will analyse the performance and functioning of government, market and institutions in the context of social and economic problems.
6. Students will think critically about economic models, evaluating their assumptions and implications.
