About Geography Department

The Department of Geography was established in Bharat Shikshan Mandal Arts, Commerce, Science Senior College, Ratnagiri on 19th August 2016-2017. Since its inception, along with academics, it has excelled in establishing Co-curricular and Extra Curricular activities. The Department believes in engaging students with stimulating projects, assignments, annual study tours, guest lectures, Geography seminars, as the modes of learning. To provide students access to the diverse Geographical reference books, the college has a library. The possible career options after studying geography include tour guide, surveyor, GIS course. The Geography department also organizes Field visits, study tours, Basic computer knowledge workshops, Guest lectures for students, Also the department organises various competitions such as poster making, photography, etc.

1. To create a knowledge community of students with respect to different branches of Geography.
2. To create awareness among the students about environmental issues.
3. To promote the use of new technology in Geography.
4. To motivate the students for field study research work in the subject.
5. To practical training for the students to make skilled human resources.
